How does it work?

Students (Y11-13) can explore the subjects of Art&Design (including, fashion, graphic design, and games design and animation), Media&Film, Performing Arts and Music in short modules of videos, reading resources and quizzes to test and develop their knowledge.

The content allows for blended online delivery, designed to fit into curriculum allowing flexibility of learning with the reassurance of accessible additional learning material for students in or out of the classroom.

Is it free?

Yes, it is completely free to use! All you have to do to engage with the content is get your students to register.

How will this be useful?

  • The content in this course will support with meeting the Gatsby Benchmarks, specifically benchmark 7 -encounters with further and higher education and Gatsby Benchmark 3- addressing the needs of each pupil.
  • The content has been created to ensure diversity and representation specifically for BAME creatives as an underrepresented group participating in the creative arts in industry and at higher education.
  • Students will be able to explore different pathways and experiences related to careers and higher education alongside their studies. The simple courses provide knowledge, insight and discovery for young people wanting to progress in the creative arts. This will support their applications to higher education and their future careers.

Is it safe?

The content is purely for educational purposes and designed for young people, adhering to AccessHE’s online safeguarding policy. With a secure registration and log-in functions data will be collected from students and When you register with AccessHE Creative you will be giving AccessHE Creative permission to process data about you. Why should my child explore a future in the creative arts?

The creative industry is continuing to show growth in the number of jobs available – from 2011 to 2019, compared to the UK average growth of employment being 11.4%, the creative industries employment increased by a massive 34.5 per cent! This is more than three times the rate of employment growth. No wonder it makes up a third of London’s economy every year!

The creative arts not only can provide employment opportunity but also enriches a young person’s life with creative skills applicable to a careers in any field. Higher education providers such as conservatoires, colleges and universities all allow students to gain knowledge from experts and fulfil creative expression.
