Tracey Emin | University for the Creative Arts, Maidstone | BA Fine Art

Tracey Emin graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Maidstone College of Art in 1988, which has since become UCA Maidstone. As one of the individuals in the Young British Artists, who emerged in the nineties, along with other famous faces such as Damien Hirst, she has exhibited at world famous galleries such as White Cube and the Saatchi Gallery. During her illustrious career Tracey has been publicly recognised in a number of ways:

  • Nominated for the Turner Prize in 1999 for her piece entitled My Bed.
  • Made a Royal Academician by the Royal Academy of Arts in 2007.
  • Appointed CBE in the 2013 New Year Honours list, for services to the arts.
  • Named one of the 100 most powerful women in the United Kingdom by Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4 in 2013.
